NEW DELHI: The country's largest e-commerce website IRCTC has entered into an exclusive partnership with Simpli5d Technologies, a digital advertising and audience Intelligence company. Through the tie-up, IRCTC aims to boost its security and advertising revenues.

Courtesy the deal, IRCTC will now use Simpli5d Technologies's image-based NLPCaptcha instaed of Captcha. Captcha is a security tool used to differentiate between humans and other malicious programmes.

NLPCaptcha has been adopted by several websites and advertisers across India, Europe and South East Asia. According to the company, NLPCaptcha's key USP is its ability to provide guaranteed attention of the end user and a brand recall which is as high as 229% more than traditional banners (as per a study done by Effective Measure, an independent market research company). It is also supposed to deliver significant cost saving for advertisers.

IRCTC accounts for more than 1 million e-commerce transactions per day. More than 100 million captchas are solved on the platform every month and all these will be replaced by NLPCaptcha, a patent pending technology to monetize captchas by Simpli5d Technologies. These Captchas will carry messages from leading brands in the country. This presents a unique opportunity for the brands to engage with the unique and premium audience of IRCTC.

Recently, IRCTC announced its plans of achieving the target of one lakh online meal orders per day. As per the plan, e-catering will be extended to 409 major stations and almost all mail/express trains in a phased manner.

A passenger can book his meal through IRCTC website, mobile app, call centre and SMS. They can exercise the option of making the payment in advance or pay cash on delivery.

There are about 81 vendors including Haldiram's, Domino's Pizza, Bikanerwala, Wimpy, Kellog's and Chaayos, among others, as part of the IRCTC's e-catering scheme
